Our Practice

Kate O’Callaghan is an Occupational Therapist who graduated from La Trobe University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and completed her Postgraduate Masters of Occupational Therapy in 2010. She has over 19 year’s clinical experience working in inpatient neurological rehabilitation; at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville, and 10 years working as a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at La Trobe University in Bundoora.

Kate has worked in community practice, in home rehabilitation, acute and sub-acute care, aged care, and amputee rehabilitation, spinal and cardiac rehabilitation. Kate has extensive experience in minor and major home modifications, personal care retraining, domestic ADL training, community mobility retraining, and ADL aid prescription. She has taught extensively in stroke rehabilitation, splint prescription and manufacturing, group facilitation, counselling, and core occupational therapy skills.

Kate has been involved in research through her own lecturing, and through the supervision of honours and Postgraduate master’s students. She also has extensive experience in arranging home care, hoist prescription and training, carer education, electric wheelchair prescription and training as well as pressure care management. She is an accredited and registered Occupational Therapist.
